You might also want to check out CmapTools, it's freeware that looks pretty cool. I saw it used to make a fantastic relationship map in the A Town Called Gaga AW game.

And it did make a big difference. Now, of course, my stat line summaries are the same as Vincent's. Only the Driver's stat line #3, and the Operator's stat line #4 are low by one point each.

However, I did have fun with the analysis of the characters, and it will help me creating new custom characters.

I will upload the new version of the PDF document Monday morning, as I'm unable to do so at this time.

I think the "second +2 counts as +3" is pretty important in Vincent's analysis vs yours.  Most of the "low" rows you have marked have two +2s, which would make them total out the same as the other blocks if you counted the second +2 as a +3.

Ah yes...

Each stat line sums to +3.
The first +2 counts as +2, but a second +2 counts as +3.

That should indeed make a difference. Allow me to redo my analysis.  :)

Apocalypse World / Re: New Playbook: Horseman

Great work on the character and the PDFs Johnstone! Any chance we'll see the rest of the Harbringers of Doom, the Riders of the Apocalypse? I.e. Pestilence/Plague/Conquest (on his white horse), War (riding a red horse), or Famine (on his black horse)? As you can see, I see of your current Horseman as Death (on his pale horse). Nicely done regardless.

Just: experimental confirmation that it did not do what it wasn't designed for.
I want that quote on a t-shirt.  :D

I think the archetype is someone who doesn't want to get attached, but does anyway.  After all, guys like Sanjuro and Blondie can just keep walking, but they usually don't.
Very good point Neon Fox, I agree.

I've only run one session so far, but I'm a bit surprised at this thread. Don't you lump a lot of NPCs in as Cast under specific Threats, so all of those cast members have the same basic Impulse? Therefore you don't have to track 40-50 individual NPCs at once. You can also easily move an NPC to become a Cast member of another Threat as the story develops, or perhaps they'll even evolve into their own Threat, but lumping them together as Cast must be the way to go - IMO. Has this not been working for those of you that are in the middle of playing the game?

What is a "Japanese binding?"

I am a better book binder than photographer so sorry for the sub par photo quality.
Amazing work. How well do the books hold up in those fancy hardcover custom bindings? Do you actually just put the book as is in the middle of the new cover (it looks like this from the pictures), or do you print your own from PDFs and then bind them?

They definitely look hot enough to generate some extra income, if you wanted to take custom orders from people, but my guess is that they would come at a hefty price.

I like these a lot Willow, especially the ones after your break where you let a month pass in the fiction. Great stuff!

Rummaging through my old comics collection I realized why this character felt so right to me; Warren Ellis' Just a Pilgrim comic book fits it to a tee!

I like Indomitable even though it might be weird having an 11.30, "it's not quite midnight yet," but I can live with that. Deadly Reflexes should just be dropped though, I'm in agreement with Arvid on why. If you just like the flavor of the name of the move, Deadly Reflexes, than exchange it for I've Seen Such Things..., getting to roll+sharp when under fire could definitely be due to Deadly Reflexes.  :)

In regards to Mike's Reveal the Secret Truth suggestion, I think that KreenWarrior's original Lead By Example does almost the same thing, but in a more fitting manner to how I see the Pilgrim character.

Based on the pilgrim in Just a Pilgrim, I'd love to add the following character move to the list.

Sharpshooter: when going aggro on a fucker at a far distance using some sort of rifle, roll+sharp instead.

Stats are too high, too. Vincent breaks them down here:

Johnstone is definitely right here, although Vincent isn't in the post that's cross-referenced. Please see my Character Analysis PDF, which breaks down every stat line of each character (along with some other details).

I'm with Judd, that is all kinds of fantastic! Please share how you created the cover of that notebook?

Not much to it!
Well maybe there's a little bit more to it. There are at least 16 stat lines that are 1 point lower than the rest for that character (this is counting the Maestro D' and Faceless, only 14 without them). I did a bit of analysis on the characters, to get the feel for them, and the results are available in a PDF file on my site.

Google Docs would not let me upload any files at the moment, otherwise I'd share the spreadsheet directly.

I wish I could edit my original post and take out the recruitment thread link, but alas, I cannot. However, I also wanted to post again to say that what I've seen of "A Town Called Gaga" so far is awesome! Great stuff on everyone's part. I will keenly keep an eye on this game as it progresses.

I love it at first glance. Especially as I'm plowing through the Wasteland comics, and Michael is totally a Pilgrim. I will try to post some more creative feedback after some sleep.
