Apocalypse World / Re: Relationship map!

Very nice, thanks for sharing. I'm reading the actual recruitment thread right now, and then I hope to follow along by reading the action as the PbP game unfolds.

Apocalypse World / Re: [n00b] Does the MC roll dice?

There's also an option to have the MC roll dice for the Harm Move, given that it's a move that players want to miss it makes sense, to some groups, to have the MC roll instead.

More playbooks = more options = more fun.
Agreed!

Yes Tony, that is a really cool move. I've only MC'ed one session so far, but I loved the Hocus' Fortunes move, as it helped shape our first session, especially since he missed his roll. The other two characters lacked such moves, and I missed them.

As a completionist, this idea makes me very sad.

Only because I'm totally neurotic about catching 'em all, so to speak.
Agreed, I'm the same way, and also saddened by this. I'd gladly pay for future Character Playbooks collections though, but I definitely want them all.  :)

I just noticed nobody's mentioned FreakAngels yet. So allow me! I consider this more or less a must-read webcomic for Apocalypse World, it hits a lot of the same notes as the game, scarcity and suck, weirdness, the lot.
FreakAngels is a damn near perfect Apocalypse World, and applying the various character roles to the story's protagonists is a rather easy thing to do. I love how they keep Opening Their Brains; it's really inspiring for my upcoming game. The back story that develops as you get deeper into the comic is really creepy as well.

Apocalypse World / Re: Playbook: Faceless

Vx said it was a GenCon exclusive, much like the Maestro D' was a preorder exclusive.
Ouch, too bad. Living in Sweden prohibited going to Gen Con for a new playbook.

Alternatively, take everything from this thread, fire up your desktop publishing software of choice, and have at it. ;)
Yeah, but I don't have mad skills like that. Too bad. I hope it will eventually see the light of day for all non Gen Con attendees.

Any chance that the Faceless Playbook will be found at other conventions, such as SPIEL 2010 in Essen?

This is great stuff, I really look forward to seeing the finished Faceless Playbook. Where, when, and how may it be obtained?

Thanks for the advice Bret, excellent stuff! I'm currently reading the games, mentally preparing for MCing, and this advice will definitely help.
