I'm not a native English speaker, so I definitely misunderstood the answer and apologize in advance.
Are you worried about racist components about a fantasy game about goblins?

Thanks for your interest.

We had a lot of fun with this game back in the day, but I was not planning to continue to make it available.

The game design has a few fundamental problems:
- The language used perpetuates racial stereotypes in a way that does not reflect my core beliefs.
- The mechanics include a asymmetrical power mechanic that might be a trigger for some people.
- The game includes a sex mechanic that, whilst inclusive is scope, is potentially problematic.

These design problems do not reflect on the awesome artwork that others have done to support the game.

I also honestly thought no-one would be interested in this old design, and I haven?t played it for years, so I was thinking of mothballing this whole set of threads (except maybe the art).

Happy to have a DM discussion here or on Twitter (@ Wightbred) if you want.

Hi, is it still possible to find the game?
I would be very interested in trying it.

Apocalypse World / The Symbiote, Circumstances, and Keeping the Host Healthy.
« Last post by Nojuice on June 18, 2020, 12:56:14 AM »
I have a series of questions about the Symbiote playbook.

How exactly is " I have access to ??s infirmary, and I can work on people in it." intended to work mechanically? Do you count as an npc medic? Can you pull off Angel level stuff as long as you are in the infirmary? Our Angel has decided never to heal the Show and I have a body with this exact circumstance.

How much freedom is the Symbiote supposed to have when writing the circumstances of the blank sections? So far I have been pretty liberal with it and the MC has been cool with that but surely there are some intended limiting factors.

How much can you do with HoTH (ii)? Good and bad luck is incredibly vague. Something I did with this was alter the way the Show's pandering worked so that it would literally rip oddments from the maelstrom instead of bankrupting the hardhold (which was a fantastic thing for the Hardholder). Someone recommended to me that "incredibly shitty luck" for the Show could be him losing his powers, which seems too lame to actually do.

Thank you in advance for any answers to these questions.

No sweat!

If you're including verbatim text from Monster of the Week, you need the copyright holder's permission. The best thing to do is to contact Michael Sands directly. Tell him the text you want to include and ask him for permission. He'll tell you how to proceed.

You need a license to publish someone else's game, like if you wanted to publish an edition of Apocalypse World, or to publish a game derived from someone else's characters and world, like if you wanted to publish a literal Star Wars game. You don't need a license to publish your own game about your own characters and world.

You can definitely call your game PbtA. If you want to use the little PbtA logo, I'll send it to you. I like to reserve it for finished games, so let me know. If you're doing your book design / PDF design for publication and you're ready to put the logo in place, email me, I'll set you up.

Stardust Blues is a good title!

Hi!

Sorry for the last reply, I've been busy with school and coronavirus. I'm totally new to this, so I'm not sure if I'm even asking the right questions.

My game is mostly based on Monster of the Week, and I've written most everything myself except for some of the basic moves. Basically, I want to know if I need a license or not, since I'm self-publishing. I'd love to call my game a PbtA game though. I can email you a few PDFs if you want to check it out and gauge how much I'm using is yours for yourself.

Again, sorry for the lateness! The world has gone crazy.
