I posted this in the new DW community in Google+ but someone there mentioned this post.

I took my crude Excel skills and built a random monster generator based on the monster creation rules in DW. It is not perfect but it does produce some interesting results. I know it is not exactly what you are looking for but since it is related I thought I would share here as well. Feel free to tweak hack or share.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliments.

If there are any East Coasters in the room I will be at Dreamation this weekend if you want to see the book in person.

The pages were printed on an off white 100% cotton paper then I stained the edges.

I do the occasional commission, if interested you can email me at thebookguy32@gmail.com

These are nice I like top one a lot .

You are right the book is a little impractical but not to bad. I tried to keep it as flat as possible.

Thanks for all he kind words

As for the embossing and for most of what I do is self taught and learned through trial and error.Embossing is a fairly new things for me so I don't now any great vids for it. All I can tell you is make sure you work with undied vegetable tanned leather for both embossing and dying and keep the leather damp while working.

Bret if you are  interested in barter check back a few post and you can find my email. I don't do many commissions but email me and we can talk.

Also called a stab binding it involves drilling a series of holes through that cover and pages (text block), then stitching it together with one continuous tread.

Not my video but if you can get past the funky elevator music this demonstrates the technique pretty well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XHfwe_VfbM

In general the bindings holdup fairly well. I play with most of my bindings and have not had to make a repair yet. Anything with a stitch or Japanese binding holds up extremely well.

Some are PDF print outs others are just replacements of the original covers. The Hunter book I did was a reprint of the book in digest form so it is half the size of the original. Typically Japanese bindings work better with print outs rather than cutting the spine off the original.

On rare occasions I have done a commission or two in the past but mostly it is a hobby and I often give them as gifts to friends and families. I don't want to use this forum to discuss commerce but if anyone wants to they can reach out to me via email 32rohoe@gmail.com to talk in more detail.

Only half Italian, but I have done about 4 DiTV covers one of which I put into the charity Auction at Gencon. If anyone is interested here is my flicker account with other covers I have done.

I am a better book binder than photographer so sorry for the sub par photo quality.

Thanks, This is actually a re-bindind of the game book. The cover is leather and then I hand embossed and stained it.

This is something I do with all the games I really like, all of Vincent's games have been rebound. :)
