For those of you able to attend, how did your games go?

I played in a session Friday night at 8:00 pm. I'd read the rules, but was eager to see how it played with an experienced GM. I'm pleased to say that it was a lot of fun!

I'm sure that it helps to have players who are good at improvisation, but the ideas started flowing right away. The bonds generated a quick backstory for the group, vaulting us right over the "getting to know you" phase of a traditional RPG.

I played a halfling thief named Harcourt, and while I had a run of bad rolls, I was able to deliver at least one effective sneak attack.

We ran through several encounters--orcs attacking a tavern, a troll at the crossroads, and more orcs (and a hydra) in a cave--in under two hours. The GM used a set of geomorphic dice (http://www.dungeonmorphs.com/dice.shtml) to generate the caverns on the fly, and the next day I tracked down the dealer and bought a set for myself!

I'm currently running a 4th Ed. D&D game, but would strongly consider starting over with DW when the current storyline wraps up.

I'm the GM from that (and several other) GenCon games.

I ran a total of I think 6 sessions of Dungeon World at Games on Demand. (4 Friday, 1 each on Sun/Sat, but they kind of blur together now.) All but one used a similar start (orcs/ogres attacking the town to steal all the ale just before the town festival for their own purposes). Things went their own way from there, but most were similar to what dodonna just described.

I had a blast running the system despite having to talk over 11+ other tables of gaming in the same room. I had made some pre-gens, but was running out of them by the end of the Con, but doing a full char gen didn't seem to take nearly as much time as I had feared it might.

Hey LM! I use geomorph dice too! Then I get the players to either draw the map out on a large sheet of paper as they go, or reconstruct with 'nearest available' dungeon tiles. Works a treat :)

Gencon sounds like it was a blast, especially that last day session that Adam ran with the storm in the background.

I ran three games myself (including an after-hours one for skinnyghost!), but I kept either seeing all the games be full before they were even written up on the board, or stepped out a couple times so that folks that had never played got to experience it.  Next time I'll definitely try to catch at least one game! :)

Also those dungeonmorph dice/cards seem super cool! I'm sorry I missed them at the con, I might have to see where I can procure a set.
