An idea:

What if each Skin has a different place they can't enter, and trying to enter it requires that they Stay Calm?

So, Vampires can't enter direct sunlight, Mortals can't enter a monster's dwelling for the first time, Witches can't enter hospitals, etc.

To do so requires that you Stay Calm, and you run the risk of freaking out, attracting attention and giving yourself away. Oh, and the risk of sparkling, obviously.

Different color sparkles for each skin. Ghouls get rave-flyer mandelbrot

Hm, I dunno.

I like the general idea of inbuilt stress triggers, but tying them all to location seems like an awkward generalization of the vampire mythos.

Maybe Forbidden Ground is sometimes, like, metaphorical? Cos I mean, "in sunlight" is obviously a different idea from "on holy ground". So you could have 'forbidden ground' be a subject of conversation, a type of interaction, or a whole lot of different things. I just can't think of any good ones right now :)

I'm with Shreyas here: Stress triggers=good; always being a location=not so good.
