Apocalypse World / Re: custom playbook: Swapper

That's a very tidy rewrite, Nathan. As MC, I really like the gig-like format of the biz. Gives lots of good material to work with.

Hey, should angels have a special move like "When you treat an injury, take +1 to the roll, in addition to whatever stock you spend," ?

It just occurred to me now that angels aren't inherently better at using their medkits than anyone else.

Maybe I'm forgetting something.

Those are cool, Ben. I really like The Unexpected and the new Pit Bull, especially.

Juggernaut is a move I can see being stolen for a lot of things.

Sagas of the Icelanders (hack)

Moves based on character's sex! Also cool stats and harm move.

Every game is a hack of other games. Dogs is a hack of Trollbabe. AW itself is a hack.

I think starting out a design being aware of your hackiness is generally a good thing. The thing to stay on guard about is your vision. Is this serving my vision(s) for the game? If the answer is yes, then you're good, whatever the origin.

I just read it.

WOW. This is so, so good. I'm blown away.

Seriously cannot wait to play.

Everyone asked me this at GPNW, and I just don't know.

Why are the small character sheets in the MC book, in their respective character-type sections? They don't seem to serve a purpose. It's a head-scratcher.

Bret, this is cool. I don't have any ideas for tuning just now, but I wanted to give you a big thumbs up.

I heart Humungus.

I really like Trouble, Willow. Nice.

Yep, that's probably the way to go.

Check out the parasite/infection stuff for Hatchet City in the book (p.148).

p. 284:

Diagram of seduce or manipulate refers to the older version of the move.

I really liked the way you played Snow, Nathan. If this was your guiding principle on Friday, then cool.

the preapocalypse / The order of things
« on: June 20, 2010, 11:26:19 PM »
I know you've thought long and hard on this, Vincent.

The ordering of things is throwing me a little, though. We get the character intros right off the bat, then the character stuff again with the playbooks, then the brief (and different) character intros.

Repeating the character stuff three times feels weird. For what it's worth, I think it was working well when you jumped right into the basics (now page 11) instead of the character stuff up front.
