Monster of the Week / Re: Question: Unquenchable Vitality

If I can contribute with my experience, every time we used this move in game, we used it after a moment of respite or concentration for the monstrous and it worked well.

Apocalypse World / Re: How does harm get unstabilized?
« on: October 23, 2015, 07:00:38 PM »
You are right.

By the way, I think the rules about stable/unstable damage are as follows:
  • At 6:00 or before, the damage is stable and it will heal on its own;
  • At 9:00, the damage is stable but it will not heal on its own;
  • Past 9:00, the damage is unstable and it will worsen, unless it is treated somehow.
An angel can make unstable damage stable, of course, but you, as the MC, could also decide whether any given NPC could stabilize damage as well, as it makes sense with the fiction.

I hope I am right. ;-)

I remember Vincent answered a similar question in this topic:

I’m sending my email address to you by private message. ;-)

Everybody else, sorry for the off topic.

Oh, I didn’t know you were Italian, too. We speak a lot (in Italian) about Apocalypse World on the Gente che Gioca forum and on the Gente che GPlus Google+ community.

And I have both the editions of the game, English and Italian.

We, in Italy, usually use the Hx reset custom move you can find at this link:

When someone else resets their Hx with you, choose 1:
* Tell them a secret about yourself.
* Tell them about some habit you have, annoying, endearing, or otherwise.
* Tell them how you are vulnerable.
* Tell them what you really think about something they care about.

The reason why this move is so common among Italian players is Narrattiva, the Italian Apocalypse World publisher, added it to the Italian rulebook as an example of custom move.

Apocalypse World / Re: Master of Ceremonies Playbook
« on: September 13, 2015, 03:19:03 AM »
Don’t worry! The book you have printed is the Master of Ceremonies Playbook and it is, in fact, the Apocalypse World corebook. The other playbooks needed to play are the character playbooks, which are the character sheets you can find in a separate file in the bundle you bought.

It’s just a stylish way Vincent used to name the Apocalypse World corebook: that is the Master of Ceremonies Playbook because it is your playbook, whereas the other players’ playbooks are the character playbooks. Simple.

Is it all clear?

Dungeon World / Re: Setup Strike

Thank you for your answer!

I asked this question on the “Dungeon World Tavern” too, and there I got a more varied answer (the last one is from Adam Koebel):

Quote from: Mike Pureka
My rule of thumb is "nothing stacks with itself unless it specifically says otherwise". So no.

Quote from: Tim Franzke
After two attacks from the Paladin the target is most likely dead.
But the name Setup Strike suggests it doesn't stack.

Quote from: Adam Koebel
Describe it in the narrative. Explain with your character how it does or doesn't stack.?

Wow! I like it! ;)

Yes, I’ll handle it case by case, like Rubberduck said, if everyone at the table is comfortable with it.

Just consider special moves, in my opinion, are about trust and willingness, therefore every player should decide if their special moves applies or not in a similar circumstance.

Apocalypse World / Re: Healing after being in a fight
« on: May 15, 2015, 02:33:35 PM »
Remember also Vincent’s words on p. 163:

Quote
Before 6:00, harm will go away by itself with time. 6:00–9:00, the harm won’t get worse or better by itself. After 9:00, unstabilized harm will get worse by itself, stabilized harm will not, and it’ll get better only with medical treatment.

“With time” and “by itself” are largely up to you as MC, but you should make them asymmetrical: harm should heal slowly, but get worse rapidly. If the character’s up and running around, that should make harm get worse more quickly, but get better more slowly.

and on p. 175:

Quote
If there’s no angel

If there’s no player character angel, healing falls entirely to you. Here are your choices, case by case […].

Monster of the Week / Re: Chosen - Resilience move
« on: April 06, 2015, 03:32:33 AM »
Yes, you are right.

Consider also the Chosen has a move to get 2 armour against any attack. With these two moves you can become very very hard to harm (and kill).

No, it’s just the Keeper has some harm moves to do when someone gets hurt (both PC, NPC or monster). With this move the Keeper has to pick the harm move from that list as if it was 1 level lower. Let’s say I’ve just got 1-harm scratch from a zombie; the Keeper normally could pick an harm move for me from the 1-harm or more list. With this move he cannot, he has to pick a harm move from the 0-harm list.

Is it clear to you, now?

Dungeon World / Setup Strike
« on: January 22, 2015, 09:35:10 AM »
Hi everybody! I come from an Italian forum where a player asked a question about the Paladin move Setup Strike:

Quote
Setup Strike

When you hack and slash, choose an ally. Their next attack against your target does +1d4 damage.

It never happened to me during my games, and that’s why I’m asking here. The question is: if the Paladin does two or more hack and slash moves in series, does this +1d4 bonus stack together?
