Dungeon World / Re: NPC counterspell?

Be honest.

If they can't cast a spell on the NPC without defying danger or some custom move then they just can't.  Its just like attacking that dragon without a magic weapon or some such.

For an example 'scary fight' this was useful to me.  http://www.latorra.org/2012/05/15/a-16-hp-dragon/

I probably haven't been able to get through those sections yet then.  I may have been too busy running the game and didn't see it.  I'm wondering though if some call out/sidebar in the section on basic move or something might help new GMs and players.

I'm hoping that there's a solid explanation of this sort of lateral thinking in the text.  A lot of people will not 'get it' if this isn't called out specifically.

So the only option for a Paladin even one with Cleric spells is to lay on hands then?

That's what I figured.  Just thought I'd check in.

Dungeon World / Druid playbook versus the text
« on: November 06, 2012, 04:49:37 PM »
There are some significant differences between the two.  I'm assuming the text is correct and this just hasn't moved out to the playbook yet.  I don't know if other classes have a similar issue.  Please make sure they match before this gets pushed to publish.

Dungeon World / Cure disease

What can a cleric do to cure disease?  I gave some one a disease and then the cleric was scanning through their spells to see what they could do about it.  Could find it directly mentioned.

No roll.  The DM doesn't ever need to roll.  The monster just attacks (damage or other things listed in their description).

It might help to have the combat example annotated where one side has the table conversation and the other has short rules explanations and why things are happening in the narrative.

I agree with this being too much for standard combat.  I would like to see skirmish / war rules though as my players have been itching to continue the game past 10th level and I'd love to see keeps and wizard towers and the like...

Yes please.

I don't think there is a clear rule in the books right now for this issue.  Looking at it I'd be temped to make the attack at -1 due to the clunkiness of using two long weapons and make damage +1.  Or I'd leave it as color and stay at +1.

The problem is that there is no example given for a complete failure.  I think that several examples of applying moves, especially non-damage ones, against a player when rolling a failure would be great especially with multiple attackers.

This is a very good idea.  IMHO
