Dungeon World / Treasure rule for groups of monsters

Rather than rolling for each monster individually, is there a suggestion on how to handle the treasure for a group or horde of monsters?

Do people just modify the normal treasure roll or use a separate table, or something beyond that?

The Hirelings chapter describes that you can spend 1 or more points on each skill.

Can anyone explain how higher levels of the skill Intervene helps (hireling pg 37)?
