Fantasy reskin

In the search for an AW fantasy reskin (I don't want to start an hack) I come up with this idea.
Instead of come up with different playbooks (rewriting the playbooks of AW or others hacks) to offer to my players, I would like to ask them to tell me what kind of character they like to play and what kind of moves this characther would do.
The final version of the player moves will be mine as MC, but based on player's idea.

What could possibly go wrong?

A big strength of AW is that it uses the rules and playbooks to direct the fiction in certain ways.

Take a look at the angel playbook.  Sure, it could just be "medic".  But by calling it Angel, and giving it moves like "touched by death" and "professional compassion", and especially the sex move, it says something about the setting and the character.

The Angel playbook tells us that the Apocalypse world is a harsh place.   That when someone binds your wounds, it's a goddamn miracle.  And it tells us that the angel is a sad, lonely character -- someone who mostly connects with people only when they lay dying on an operating table.

If you use your method, that's what you'll be loosing out.

Simple World, by Joe McDaldno, was pretty much made just for this purpose. Link here: http://buriedwithoutceremony.com/simple-world/

Check out the Hyborian Saga playbooks

They're petty solid. They're just the core AW playbooks re-skinned, as you put it, into fantasy archtypes.

Many thanks

Finally I opted for some fantasy playbooks, (less work to do ;) )

But I keep your suggestions as I suspect that my players will ask something more..
