Oh that's great!

I may have to go "Trade Harm for Harm" more now when PCs just start gun fights... never actually thought to go that route.

Yeah, the chart feels right and would have been pretty useful when I started MCing. Definitely belongs to the play aids index.

Technically, it's a necessarily complicated flowchart for violence in AW...

A good thing whatever way you put it, though.

That's awesome, but a whole lot of double negatives. If phrased all as positives it would be clearer.

But yeah, really cool.

I was a bit nervous when I followed it, especially when I got to the battle moves question. But then, right at the last moment, when it said "do we ever break out complex combat moves", I was so relieved, because it still applied to my playing! :D

Will see if this helps friends who still think this is a murky area...

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks a lot everyone!

I'm looking at it now and feeling likes its kinda incomplete. I think there should be a consideration for whether you're attacking another PC, which warrants more pro-activeness in terms of avoiding being shot / getting into a fight in the first place - maybe they're jumping behind cover! Maybe they're screwing with your mind to stop you from shooting them! - I think of it in terms of the possibility of the player theoretically being shot at having initiative, but its not something I've had that much experience with.

My two cents, it's great as is.  Input from the other PCs may take you out of the chart, but that input's so variable and situation-dependent that it boils down to an asterisk on every entry with a footnote that says "* Unless another PC derails this".
