Treasure Weight

So, how much Weight do Gold Pieces have?  Or should I just be handing out a lot more jade idols (W1, 30GP), jewel encrusted scepters (W2, 150GP) and masterful tapestries (W3, 350GP) instead?

To keep things simple we were doing 100 gp = 1 weight.  I think we decided worrying about treasure weight was kind of pointless unless it was a magic item though and haven't been using those rules since.

100gp = 1 weight might as well be an official rule - it seems to be everyone's assumed opinion of things.

As for treasure, you can kind of eyeball it based on the weight of similar items.  It's a bit like quick game of 20 questions - "is it heavier than a dagger?  lighter than plate armor?"

Whatever makes most sense to the group and doesn't result in cries of havoc from the players.
