My First Apocalypse World Session

Last night I finally got the chance to play Apocalypse World and it was everything I was hoping it would be. We chose to go with a Swampocalypse where the world is covered in bog and whole cities were swallowed up by the muck. I got to play a Hardholder in charge of an old cruise liner called Maiden (because it was about to set off on it's maiden voyage when the world went to shit and so when survivors came upon it they saw all sorts of signs with the word maiden voyage on it, hence "Maiden") where the main deck is used for a marketplace and the plentiful cabins allow for places for people to sleep and live and the main swimming pool is an ampitheatre for plays, concerts and occastional UFC fight.

The other players wrote up a chopper who ran a gang out Seadoo riders and swamp skimmers, a Freak with all sorts of messed up mutations from a colonies of other freaks, and the Juggernaut in his makeshift metal suit just lookin to make a buck. It was a great crew and I think we all had a blast! Our MC did a great job introducing a plethora of NPC's for us to love and hate and I can't wait to see where things go!

So, in closing, Apocalypse World is as great on paper as it is in practise! Thanks Vincent for a great game!

Was glad to have you at my table, Pheylorn

This is now my third, concurrently running, Apocalypse World... gotta say, it's so fun using and re-using NPC names across campaigns.  *laugh*  Just gotta keep myself from getting confused.

P.S.  "The Freak" is just a renamed "The Grotesque"... I thought the name change made it punchier.

P.P.S.  It really is a great game, Vx!
