Monster Moves

If this was 1985, I guess I'd just go with my gut ("well, it's obvious what this means!"), but the internet has made me weak and spoiled, so I'll ask.

The monster moves.  Those are just more GM moves, right?  A subset of "Use a Monster..."?  You would use them if the player flubbed a roll, or asked, "What does the monster do now" or just plain ignored the thing, right?

So there, I ask.  Conan would be so ashamed of me.

I'm the one who should be ashamed. It's not very clear in the rules, but the listed monster moves and GM moves. A monster might also have some player-face moves with it, to cover actions the players might take, or the effects of a specific poison or disease.

So the 2-4 listed moves are just things the GM can do with that monster. They may be harder or softer moves, and the GM should use them appropriately.

They're like the Danger moves - guidelines to help you play the monster.  Things to "do" with that monster when you want to do a thing.
