Dungeon World / Re: DW Font?
« on: January 21, 2013, 01:52:25 PM »
I like Aniron and Ringbearer by Pete Klassen, especially Aniron because it's got Cyrillic characters. Free for personal and non-commercial use.
There's also a bunch of fonts at http://www.iconian.com/
See First Order or Imaginary Forces for example. All free for non-commerical use and only $20 otherwise. Nothing as clean as Newcomen, though.

Of course, Scrape! Actually, I've just licensed this under CC-BY, so you can as well add some of my stuff to your Guide if you want.

It's Newcomen. It's not freely available, but there are others fantasy fonts you can use instead. Can't help you with exact font names, lost all of them when my hard drive died.

I've found misses on mental moves the hardest to GM. I summarized my experience on the topic in this article, check it out.

So you probably won't let it go lightly, do you?

Well, that's a good question. What domain has been taken from you?

Great racial move! Though as written it's a bit too narrow and mechanical. I'd like it more as "Storm always is a place of power for you".

The first one is certainly true, though you'll have to be creative in interpreting the choices.
The second one is a good point to start asking questions about what "divine authority" is and what kind of orders can the Paladin give.

Gnome Druid - Fellow Burrower
You may always take the shape of any burrowing animal, in addition to your normal options.
Maybe, "many burrowing animals"? "Any" just does not seem right.

Hack'n'Slash 10+ result is base damage or base damage+1d6 and an attack from your adversary. Tangled meat is just +1d6, no downside.

I'm with adam on that one. First session is best played by the rules in the book. That is, with no prepared fronts. Well, you might have one or two, but do not try to force the characters into it.

As for #5, it really depends on what has been established before, but based on my assumptions about ogres in general I'd say it's either sneak attack. Or defy danger with STR for Thief: he's certainly nimble enough to get in the right position, no need to roll. But pushing that damn huge thing to fall on the spikes is really difficult.
For the strong Fighter it would be other way round.

Awesome! Though Fortune-teller has Insightful Attack listed twice on advanced moves list.

Death is one of the forgotten gods in my game. So I told the druid to bring offerings (including one pigeon) to the Death's statue in forgotten temple. Druid is strongly antitheistec. So it was cool moral dilemma for him.
Then Death gave him his own black pigeon that grants a move similar to Visions of Death. Pigeon's owner can whisper to the pigeon who must die and why and let carry the message. He never ever used that move because he believes that it's very unnatural.
