Dungeon World / Re: Spend XPs to turn miss into a 12

Quick, semi-related question -- is it standard in the rules that you mark experience if you roll a miss?  I think it's not in 2.3, but I'm not sure how it works, or worked previously.

Also, what if it was spend XP to change the result to 7-9?  That eschews the whole "10+ is the boring outcome" part of the above.

You're best able to collude quickly with people who you've worked together with extensively in the past and become entangled with.

So in a sense, your long history of helping your buddy sneak past a guard -- knowing exactly how long they will hesitate before going for it -- will influence your decision to shoot.

(Personally, I'm fine with it being solely meta.)

Along comes DW and they say make it dangerous and don't be afraid to kill characters, so I decide to go along with that. Actually, I am fine with that since that is supposed to be the tone of the game. Now what you are talking about here is to take me back to my old ways and fudge things enough that the players struggle but make killing more rare.

It's hard to fudge when players roll all the dice -- it might work for you if you rewrote the Last Breath move?  Or just include that rolling a miss on Last Breath will get an extra-potent bargain from Death in order to return to life.  There's some discussion of this in the text if I believe.

Just a thought if you wanted to keep things less lethal!  Otherwise, resurrection is a bit of a motif if people are fine playing a different character for awhile.

I never knew the tri-folds were supposed to be 8.5x14, and just printed them with auto-size selected through adobe.  Just had white space at the top/bottom -- which makes considerably more sense now!  Anyway, I still found them readable at that size.
