Thanks Sequitur,

I don't suppose you're the one working on the Modern Fairy Tale hack I've heard about? Cause from what I've seen of that one, it looks pretty frickin' awesome!

Spent some time re-making the character sheets into tri-fold legal size sheets. They looks pretty sleek if I do say so myself. The pictures were generously modified so this use by @revel911. Check em out if you get the chance.

"Hold a mirror up to Corruption" sounds like a decent Principle. Or Move, really. Could go either way, depending.

Could do. Could do.

19
What would you even call that MC move? Or is it a Principle or Agenda?

Actually it was London that we played in, but Boston was our second choice. And it was a super fun session! Thanks Hanklevoncrankle:)

Corruption moves are supposed to be powerful. They are free advances that you get for killing people and giving up part of your humanity. Once you start down that path though you will inevitably turn into a monster, almost certainly.

Your idea regarding some pre-determined corruption manifestations is totally work-able but I would prefer to keep to the philosophy of 'less is more'. The idea is already in there to use in the MC's toolkit. When a player take a corruption advance 'tell them the possible consequences and ask'  'ask questions like crazy' and 'offer them an opportunity with or without a cost'   All those moves/principles can let you ask some loaded questions of a player when they advance corruption. Examples like "How has your soul changed irrevocably?", "What's with that change to your body? Is that normal?" "When you look at Chalmers, he smells like food now, what do you do about that?"

Hey all!

I'm designing an apocalypse world hack called Urban Shadows. It's a game meant to emulate stories like The Dresden Files and Angel.

I have nine playbooks completed and an MC playbook in the making. Here is the link to the files.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/v1dzfzn0bvdxgr4/IlfhqzalfY

Here's the blurb;

Urban Shadows is a table-top role-playing game set in a modern urban setting with a dark shadow cast over it. In Urban Shadows, Vampires, Were-wolfs, Faeries, Ghosts and all manner of powerful creatures roam our world preying on humanity and it's ignorance of their existence. But not all of them want to hurt or hunt humanity, some of them fight against their natures and expectations to try and live a life among mortality, constantly struggling to be a part of our world yet always apart.

But where there is life, there is hope. Humanity is not alone in their struggles, there are some who have seen the darkness, have let it in and choose to stand up and face the night.

In the game, you control a member of one of four factions in play around the world. Mortality, the humans with nothing to offer except insight, guile and resolve. Power, humans who have been imbued with awesome powers and heavy burdens. Night, those who were once human and now stalk the nights and hunter. Wild, creatures and being from outside our world who have come to stake their claim.

Who will you be? Which side will you choose? Will you be strong enough to face the darkness without and within?

Shall I make the other 5 for you? The margins should be tighter when I render them at home. I have limited software here at work.

I had some time to kill at work so I made up an Engineer character sheet. Let me know what you think. I can easily port the other classes over once you find a layout design you like.

Also, I would consider moving Consult Training to a Will based move. As it stands Sharp has three basic moves under it and that seems like too many. Will should remain relevant and tempting.

You could consider adding a little bonus for using Consult Training as well, like a +1 forward for hitting the roll. This is what I did in my Star Wars hack and it seems to be a nice motivator for players to choose this move over Read a Sitch. As always, just a thought.

Also, LOVE racial moves, they are clean and evocative. Great idea. I want to play an Asari Adept somethin' fierce! You need to set up a google hangout playtest session sometime. :)

Looks really good! Using obsidian portal works wonderfully, it's a beautiful interface. I'd love to hear more as you playtest this.

I especialy like the MC special move you give to each player, that's sick!!

I would totally be cool if my MC brought this to the table. Especially if the group gets to pick the questions at the end of the session. That way the players all agree on the sorts of things they want to be doing in game. If I want to explore the physchic maelstrom then I simply nominate the question "Did we learn of a new facet to the maelstrom this session?"

I totally dig it, *especially* the variant highlight questions. Will consider this a possible custom move for a future game. Thanks!
