The Regiment / Playbooks
« on: May 30, 2012, 11:25:34 PM »
Any thought to new playbooks for Regiment?

I like the idea of the Military Journalist, as from Full Metal Jacket, but that's only because that's what's on my mind right now.

Combat Engineers would be cool and useful, Chaplains would be really good for certain settings.

That said I'm providing notions without specifics, but I'm curious, too, if there are thoughts "against" having more playbooks, would that dilute the experience?

Apocalypse World / Re: Does Operator/Hardholder Barter Accumulate?
« on: August 17, 2010, 01:05:50 AM »
I'm not so sure - the Hocus is like the Operator in that the barter reflected is her own, whereas it states in the text how the Operator differs from the Hardholder in this regard.  And given it's just 1-barter in most cases, and one tends to spend barter (the Hocus often being forced to for his folks, even), it would seem to me it would carry over.  But I do understand the point above re Hardholder and the similarity...lumpley/Victor, any chance to comment?

Apocalypse World / Re: NPC "brainers"

I think it wouldn't take more than reskinning (so to speak) of the Skinner playbook as is.  The moves remind me of the "Artist" class I had in my early (and not good) attempt at a post-apocalyptic game some 25 years ago.  Removing clothes could be looked at as the exchange of clothes into a dramatic new persona, some acting job thing, just as an example.  Or substitute a paint brush swiping or some-such.  But it would take, to the point stated above, some reworking in cases like that, granted the Skinner move as stated is more pushing towards a sex-attractant nature.
