Sagas of the Icelanders / Re: Rules questions

Answers from Gregor:

For the first question: everyone involved (so either the Matriarch and A, or the Matriarch, A and B) all get bonds.

For the second question, it's a formatting error.  It should be roll +versed.

Hi everyone, a question on the Matriarch move: "Common good: When you propose an alliance or collaboration and they accept, you gain a bond with each other."

I'm not sure who gets the bonds

Matriarch and A agree on an alliance: they mutually gain a bond with each other ?

Matriarch arrange for A and B to ally: does she gains a bond on A and B, while B gets a bond on matriarch and A, etc... ?

After playing AW, when I fell in love with MH, my choice of "game support" was to include all moves and strings rules on the character sheet, meaning I have to concentrate some information, mostly the "Playing the..." dispatching the information directly in moves, dark side, etc...

Some cards with the same kind of content are presently shared on Story games http://story-games.com/forums/discussion/17119/monsterhearts-cards#Item_41

I liked the idea exposed some times ago, that Xander was a kind of Queen

I'll certainly translate your skin in French to propose it to my players

From your mc's point of view, but from the player's pov, he only get a +1 for disappointing most people (with consequences in the fiction) and giving a string, which can nullify the +1 gained

I don't find your moves complicated ^^

I find it really cool

Shame on me and death can't climb are maybe a little weak at first sight

My personal take on an obsessive behaviour was a mad scientist, wich implied things quite similar to  Hidden agenda.

that's how I play it: players need to make an convincing proposal

I agree that it is not a powerful move, but from my point of view it's coherent with the fae concept: you show freely what you are and you have no problem with it.

Make them promise they will never use what they know of you against you and things are ok, or if you want it to be "powerful", buy entrenched

no, it's more like Tigra or Catwoman, only for the behaviour. In fact the moves are not specially "magical", approximately like the Queen, you can play it like a nearly normal human (who doesn't want to be bound to anyone but who still like to be the center of attention)

I made 3 skins but only translated one here:
-Mummy is about reincarnation, devotion to your love (while the mortal is more a parasite of her lover) but waiting for some recognition. Heavily Auspex equiped, it's also inspired by Nephilim
-Feline is about being independent (and cruel, but you're a cat, so that's normal) and not admitting that you can need help (cat has no master!). But I've never been fully satisfied by the moves I created
-Evil twin is about sociopathy. Inspired by the BBC series Jekyll. The twist is that your "normal side" is being Hyde, and your weakness, your dark side, is being Jekyll (without any special move, and each time you have sexe, you change, in fact this is a skin that should change more frequently than the other). Stats begin at 0, but every "active" move (lashing, turning on, shuting down) is at +1 while more subtle or passive one (manipulating, holding steady and fleeing) are at -1. This skin is quite similar to the werewolf for the "I follow no rules" aspect, but I think I made something different

For me the werewolf's primal dominance is in the same category.

The werewolf in my group uses it a lot, and he's now part of the football team as he wanted,... but all the good players are now unable to play (hospital and things like that) and the team totally lost their match. The werewolf even died on the field due to accumulated fights and choose the only possible option : loose all strings he had to survive without turning into a wolf.

So, yes go on, fight and gain a string :)

The ghoul of my group has "short rest for the wicked". So yes he is brought back to life and fully healed, but (as I play it) not in good shape. His neck has been broken, so he has to put some minerva or something inside his neck or throat so that his head doesn't "hang" on a side. Or he can get some necromantic caretakers after all. Potent move, but with a price

Another move I created for my Feline skin allows you to gain back a string when you inflict a condition on your "prey of the moment" (when you have no more strings on him/her, you're bored and you choose another one). So basically, you can inflict a Condition to your prey each scene. How many time will it take before he retaliates or put a definitive end to all this ? Potent move but voluntarily leading to terrible situations
