There the system of the rights is being discussed

I am still struggling with the rights, but this is my take on it:

Right is what define my character. Normally I already play with a right systems, only it is not so well-defined.
If I play a stereotypical paladin I play someone that want to defend the weaklings. If in my game I am not able to do that, for any reasons, I will be upset. Maybe I would be upset with with myself because I wasn't able to defend someone or with the GM because in game or out of game he did not let me do that, or with other players.

The bottom line is this, if I cannot play my PC in the way I intend I will be upset, that's like I have my right denied.
The rights system seems to put this thing in the rules system.

Is it necessary? I don't know, but it is the first time that I see this thing so clearly written.

I don't want to seem negative, but that article overstated a lot the results of the study.
Unfortunately, I would add, because female vikings are awesome

I was expecting an answer like: "Every game mechanics address the players' relationship" (with the inner voice that mr Baker do when he posts on AW forum)
;)

Truly, this game mechanic more than any others

Running a Pbf with a Heir 2 rank, DragonHerald 3 rank, WarHerald 5 rank and a TrollKiller 3 rank

Setting defined in character creation, elements added when needed

Story zoomed on PCs, but there is still 5-6 importnat NPC.

Both kind of narratives, social and political as well as action, mostly it depends on the playbook playing

I use this thread for another question about the DragonHerald

Inviolate: the dragons in the Earth give you 2 Armor, even when you wear none.

Is it a plain +2 Armor? Does "the dragons in the Earth" means something more?

I Like the idea of a plot armor. It is something I was thinking too

I still don't get it. Hold Steady can be used as Acting under Fire or is something different?
I ask because I miss Acting under Fire, and Hold Steady seems to me quite passive, while AoF can be triggered by an active action of the PC.

Ok, I have to say that I am quite lost in the use of the groups in battle, and of the PC in the groups.

If I have a WarHerald that attack with its warband should I roll go to battle for all the group? But I lose the focus on what happen to the PC, right? Otherwise if I follow the PC there is no point in tracking the harm and the fate of the group, I would say

AW:Dark Age / Re: questions on Outlaw Heir
« on: March 07, 2014, 04:12:33 PM »
We got an issue on the Beautiful & Doomed moves.

The Heir approached a tax collector and his guards and told them to gave the money back to the peasants because he is the legitimate heir.
He rolled 10+ on B&D
So, the collector was scared, while there is a friend of his family among the peasants (but he doesn't know yet who is). Also a girl felt in love, but it is not important right now.
In the meantime one of the guards sprints to attach him.
The player was not satisfied of this, because he got someone who tried to killed him like if he rolled 6-.
My guess is that it doesn't matter, the success did not give him a sort of immunity. If someone want to kill him because of the fiction he will be attacked even with a success.

Am I right or I've been a bit too harsh?

Ah, you roll support also for using the safe passage and sanctuary?
It makes sense, but I didn't think about that

AW:Dark Age / PC NPC PC

One of the driver of AW was the triangle pc-npc-pc
In AWDA the PCs seems to be more on one side. The oath system strengthens the bonds between them instead of create antagonism. Is still useful to build this kind of triangles or could be against the approach of the game?

The less you have the less can go wrong with Fortunes...
