Title: A Starship Lit Only By Fire
Post by: PigKiller on April 18, 2013, 03:11:33 PM
"On starry shores
black waves do break,
and dark and hungry creatures
there do landfall make."

A doomed continent.  Adrift amidst an inky black sea.  Lost men bound to new gods face terrible beasts from beyond The Great Black Sea with naught but sharp bronze and courage.

I'm working on building the backbone of a setting to run campaign in.  It's basically bronze age civilization on a long ago wrecked colony ship floating through space.  It's populated with various aliens and mutants and ancient robots, etc.  The "surface" of the ship is a giant ecosphere and below that is a tangled maze of tunnels and corridors, many of which are now sealed or blocked off.

You may want to check out the old Metamorphasis Alpha RPG for inspiration (unless that's already your jumping off point, in whch case, ignore this). It's basically Gama World on a derelict world ship. There are old hardcover editions floating around, but you can probably soak up the good story/setting details with a thorough google search.

And there's a Kickstarter for the new edition:

Check out Twilight of the Gods by John C. Wright.  It is a short story.
