Title: Fear / Sanity

For Lovecraftian Monsters, should there be a Fear / Sanity mechanic, thoughts?

It's not built in because that "descent into madness" isn't what I wanted to play.

I know I listed Lovecraft in the inspirations, but that's mostly as a source of monsters rather than of how hunters should act.

But there are plenty of ways you can bring sanity loss or terror effects into your mysteries, either as monster powers or custom moves.

Totally understand and I love it for its Sam and Dean monster hunting flavour.  Just wanted to try it with some Lovecraftian horror! :)

Sure!

If I were going to go that way, I might just bolt on the Unknown Armies madness meters, and add a basic move to deal with the horror (and use a different rating for each meter, maybe).

Also, check out http://apocalypse-world.com/forums/index.php?topic=1945.0 (http://apocalypse-world.com/forums/index.php?topic=1945.0) for an explicitly Lovecraftian hack.
