Title: "No, He doesn't want to hear you". Banning reverse-escalation in conflict?
Post by: Wishsong on July 01, 2013, 10:12:08 PM
I know Dogs can escalate their fight from gunfight to talking during conflict.

But sometimes, I feel "reverse-escalation" is nonsense, especially from physical fight to talking.

Is there any expected effect If I ban reverse-escaltion? ("No. He doesn't want to hear you.")

As far as I know, which is very little, escalation has to follow fiction, so when it doesn't make sense fiction wise to escalate, you just can't. So yes, saying "He doesn't want to hear you" is perfectly valid when the fiction calls for it.

Some other times reverse escalating will make sense, though, and you should allow it.

Correct!

Don't ban it outright, but do make a judgment call every single time anybody tries to do it.
